What is Soda Blasting:
Soda Blasting is a technique used to clean or de-paint and restore almost any surface with minimal effect on the type of material being cleaned.
It is gentle yet effective - soda blasting will not etch glass or damage bearings or seals. It is non-hazardous and there are no toxic fumes or chemical solvents required. It is food-grade approved, water soluble, non sparking and non flammable as well. Uses include many Residential Applications, Graffiti Removal, Highway line removal, Fire Restoration, Auto Restoration, Swimming Pool De-Painting, Anti-Fouling Paint Removal, Wood Stripping, Brick Cleaning and De-painting, Shop Blasting and it can be used in the Food Processing Industry for Cleaning.
Soda blasting is similar to sand blasting except that sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is used as the blast media instead of sand. It effectively removes dirt, grease, fat, oil, algae, carbon, paint, soot, char algae, carbon and more from stainless steel, cast iron, brick, aluminum, copper, concrete, brass, fireglass, glass, some plastics and more.
What is Sand Blasting:
Sandblasting can remove paint, rust, residue and oxidation from materials quickly and efficiently. Sandblasting can also be used to change the condition of a surface such as removing scratches or casting marks. There are a number of Industrial, Commercial and Residential applications for sandblasting such as Structural Metal, Architectural Concrete, Historical Restoration, Wood/Log Structures, Parkakes, Underground Tunnels, Aerial Work. Decks, Drilling Rigs, Tanks, Trains, Trailers, Automobiles, Heavy Equipment, Large Boulders, Landscaping Rocks, Sculptures, Driveways, Retaining walls, and more.
What is Glass Blasting:
Glass is one of the largest blasting medias used for abrasive blasting projects. Glass beading media is used for removing the top layer of the object's surface.
Wondering about a specific surface?
Every job has its own unique requirements and challenges. There is a variety of different blast media that we can choose from and what we use will depend on budget, blast profile and the type of substrate. Everything from a soft corn cob media to an extremely hard and aggressive Silicon Carbide - we can help to pick a product that works best for your unique project.
Auto Restoration
We love restoring vehicles! Soda blasting is an excellent method for preparing your vehicle for painting. Soda blasting has been used for years by top restoration companies because it gently removes old paints and primers and it is gentle enough that you can choose to remove or leave existing body fillers. Heat is not generated during the blasting process (unlike sand blasting) and therefore is a safer option and will not warp body panels. It is safe to blast around rubber, wiring and glass.
Products Used
